WoW Achievements vs WAR Tome of Knowledge
Patch 3.0.2 brought Achievements to WoW, and so far they're proving to be a lot of fun. I've explored and finished a few low level quests in Eastern Kingdoms to unlock the exploring and questing achievements. I went on a raid to kill Hakkar and Ragnaros (getting people who could douse runes was ...

Interesting point about how the two games approach quests and achievements opposite each other. I love the quest directives in WAR. Just makes the experience that much smoother, and people are less likely to be asking you where X is every two minutes.

Warhammer Tome of Knowledge: Transparency, Commemoration, and Incentives
Player Versus Developer — ... , while Rohan compares it to WoW's achievements. Both have mentioned an interesting design decision that I've been meaning to write about for a bit. Mythic has chosen not to reveal the possible unlocks until players actually discover them. This isn't some strange oversight on their part, but rather an interesting design decision. ...

WoW achievements: Less rewarding, but funnier names
The Many Relms of Relmstein — ... I guess it makes sense if you look at some of the differences between the two games. As Rohan was talking about earlier the unlocks for the Tome of Knowledge are largely hidden from the player. There are some hints in there, but it doesn't just come right out and give you a list of all available titles, tactics, and trophies. I guess it makes sense that Warhammer has more fluff rewards in their achievement system since it's slightly harder to earn them. Not that all the rewards are cosmetic since apparently there are some tactics and ability rewards which make you more powerful ...
