I was busy thinking up my newest, greatest, most amazing character ever & I thought about a retribution paladin that uses a one-hander & shield for survivability. I worked out a theoretical build & headed over to WoWHead to see what gear they'd suggest.

... How much you value each of these stats depends on personal preference and I will list options suited to every playstyle where applicable. As for Spirit and MP5, Holy Priests still gain more from Spirit due to 25% of it being converted to Spellpower and hence, throughput, so you probably want to priotize it over MP5 items.
One-handed Weapons: Val'anyr's proc is still amazing, so until Icecrown it'll stay the number 1 mace choice.
