... I received a few emails last week from the creator of http://www.pathofahero.com/ asking me to check out his site. I thought it was another spam email but then checked out the site and was pleasantly surprised. The site combines both a blog and a new idea. It is effectively like the wow armoury but with a few nice twists. It gives a gear score based on the quality of your epax and also allows you to post journal entries. It also allows you to take screenshots of your char at various points in time and then lets you scroll through them, so you can see how your appearance has changed over time. Check it out at ...
Path of a Hero lets you blog your character
WoW.com —
... Reader Aaron sent us a link to his new site called Path of a Hero earlier this week, and it's an interesting little endeavor. Basically, you just punch in your realm and character, and then you can add entries to your character page by putting in a screenshot. The system itself also grabs your stats from the Armory, and puts it all in a nice readable format, so what you end up with is basically a blog/timeline of what your character has been up to lately. You can even follow your friends (or create rivalries with other players), and you can check "gear ...
Path of a Hero

Some time ago I discussed achievement systems and said how sad it was that your character's development wasn't better recorded. Now I received a mail from a new website for World of Warcraft called Path of a Hero, which serves exactly for the purpose of keeping a record of your character. You sign up (*not* using your WoW password), make a screenshot of your character on the WoW character selection screen, and upload it. The site then also uploads your gear from BeImba, including a gear score. And you can add a short blog entry describing your character. ...

Twisted Nether Blogcast —
... A wise man once told me, the journey is as important as the destination, if not moreso. Well, it may have not been a wise man, but the advice still stands. Everyone, including your level 80 raiding toon decked out in the phattest of lewtz and your Warlord-title-sporting spike-covered undead rogue, started out the same place as the rest of us: level 1, wearing the wrong type of armor and holding a cruddy weapon. (Unless you’re a death knight…) ...
What can we expect from RPG storytelling?
Tobold's MMORPG Blog —
... is a personal one. It is the story of how his character developed, how he interacted with other players, how he overcame major challenges. Very few games offer the tools to chronicle this sort of life story: You get tools like the armory showing where your character is now, but not a history of how he got there, except for the dates in small print in the achievement list. Everquest 2 had some web-based tools, but for World of Warcraft you'd need to use a third party application like Path of a Hero to chronicle your virtual life story. And of course even automatic chronicles ...
